Ask yourself, “How many times have I let fear stand in-between the person I am today and the person I want to be tomorrow?”
Fear is natural. We all feel it at one point or another, and it isn’t always a bad thing. Fear can keep us safe or even inspire us to take positive actions in our lives.
Unfortunately, fear becomes a problem when it prevents us from taking steps that would positively impact our future. For many off us, fear is an obstacle that holds us back from reaching our full potential.
But, by eliminating future risk, you’re also preventing future reward. Instead, ask yourself another question:
“Why simply survive when I can thrive?”
Take this 3-step approach to your fear:
1. Acknowledge it. Instead of sweeping your fear under the rug, put it out there. Write it down, say it out loud or talk to someone about what’s holding you back.
2. Examine it. Take a critical look at your fear and ask yourself why you feel it. Then ask yourself, “What’s the worst that can happen?”
3. Face it. There’s only one way to beat your fear, and that’s to feel it and do what you’ve got to do anyway.
